Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) has addressed a TikTok complaint made by an inpatient who claimed to have waited for almost two hours at the hospital for painkillers and had to order them through foodpanda instead. SKH clarified that they prioritize patients with emergency cases over less serious ones.
In a Facebook post, SKH acknowledged the TikTok video circulating online and explained that the patient’s care team had provided appropriate care based on his condition. The hospital reassured the public that they are committed to attending to every patient in a timely manner. However, patients with less acute conditions might experience longer waiting times compared to those being treated for urgent and life-threatening emergencies.
The TikTok user, known as Jombadok, made a video stating that he had waited for his painkillers for almost two hours before resorting to ordering them through foodpanda. The exact reason for his hospitalization was not mentioned in the video.
Jombadok filmed himself collecting the painkillers from a foodpanda delivery rider in the hospital lobby. He expressed his frustration at not being able to obtain the medicine from a first-world hospital, calling the situation ridiculous.
SKH’s response highlights the hospital’s commitment to prioritizing urgent cases and ensuring appropriate care for every patient. While waiting times may vary for patients with different conditions, SKH aims to provide timely care to all individuals seeking medical attention.
