The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI) is proud to announce that Tom Koutsoumpas, CEO of NPHI, has been selected as a Top Innovator by Modern Healthcare for 2023. This prestigious award recognizes leaders and organizations that are driving innovation and achieving measurable results in improving care and contributing to clinical and financial goals.
Tom Koutsoumpas was recognized for his leadership in driving innovation across NPHI’s 100+ member organizations, as well as through his work with NPHI’s Innovation Lab. The Innovation Lab is dedicated to exploring new ideas and approaches to enhance the provision of healthcare services.

In addition to his role at NPHI, Tom Koutsoumpas serves as President of Healthsperien LLC and is a co-founder and co-chair of the Coalition to Transform Advanced Care (C-TAC). These organizations are dedicated to improving healthcare for millions of Americans by advocating for policies that ensure greater access, equity, and quality of life.
Tom Koutsoumpas is also Chairman of the Board for Capital Caring Health (CCH), one of the largest not-for-profit hospice and palliative care providers in the nation. He has been recognized for his leadership in not-for-profit hospice and palliative care in the U.S. and has been featured in publications such as the Wall Street Journal.

Tom Koutsoumpas’ dedication to health care innovation spans several decades, and he has made significant contributions in roles such as advising on federal affairs at the Indiana Governor’s Office and leading the development of a substantial federal and state presence for a major health care company.
