A new modular clinic has officially opened in Bothwell, offering additional healthcare options for rural residents. The clinic, operated by CarePartners in collaboration with Erie St. Clair Home Community Care Support Services, is located in the arena parking lot in East Kent.
The fully accessible clinic provides a range of services, including intravenous treatments and wound care. It is staffed by one full-time nurse and two part-time nurses and operates for 60 hours a week. Patients who are eligible for home community care support services can access the clinic through a referral.
The clinic has both patient and office space and is considered semi-permanent, as it can be moved to another location if needed. However, it is expected to remain in the area for the foreseeable future. This modular clinic is the first of its kind for CarePartners and is aimed at improving healthcare services while also providing cost savings.
Jodi Phillips, vice-president of patient care and experience at CarePartners, expressed pride in the new clinic and emphasized the organization’s commitment to growing ties within the community. The clinic is not yet at full capacity but expects to serve more patients as it moves forward.
The clinic’s opening was celebrated with a special event attended by Mayor Darrin Canniff and East Kent Coun. Steve Pinsonneault. Both expressed optimism about the clinic’s potential impact on area healthcare services and hope to see similar initiatives in the future.
