Genesee Health Plan (GHP) has announced that it will be hosting its annual Drive-Thru Vaccine event on September 22nd. This year’s event will mark the 10th anniversary of the initiative. The event will take place at Genesee Health Plan’s office in Flint, Michigan, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Drive-Thru Vaccine event will offer a range of vaccines, including the flu vaccine for all ages, Tdap, and Hepatitis B. However, due to uncertainty about the availability of the new COVID-19 booster, it will not be administered at the event.
Participants can simply drive through the service bay, roll up their sleeve, and receive the flu shot, which will be provided by Walgreens pharmacy. In addition to the flu shot, the Genesee County Health Department will offer Tdap, Hepatitis B, and additional flu vaccines inside the office.
The Genesee Community Health Center will also be present at the event to provide NARCAN training and kits. Other organizations will be in attendance as well, and attendees can enjoy free ice cream, participate in gas card drawings, and receive back-to-school giveaways.
The annual Drive-Thru Vaccine event organized by Genesee Health Plan aims to make vaccine access convenient and efficient for the community. By offering drive-thru services, individuals can receive the necessary vaccinations without needing to make a separate appointment or enter a medical facility.
This event aligns with the mission of Genesee Health Plan to improve access to healthcare services, particularly for the underserved and uninsured populations in the Genesee County area.
