Anti-snoring Device Launched in India
Snorben, an anti-snoring nasal device developed by Benson Medical Services,
Canberra, Australia, was recently launched in India. The device would be available
in stores of Manipal Cure and Care (MCC), India's first health and wellness
centre.
Snorben is a clinically- tested device that is manufactured from medical grade
materials. It comes in three different sizes, giving customers a choice to opt
for what suits them best. Currently, it is available in North America and Australia
and approved by Therapeutic Goods Administration, Australia
Snoring is one of the most widely prevalent disorders affecting over 40 per
cent of men and 20 per cent of women. Apart from lifestyle issues, snoring also
has serious health implications as it is generally regarded the first symptom
of the Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) syndrome. OSA means that the airway has
collapsed or is blocked during sleep. The blockage may cause shallow breathing
or breathing pauses and can lead to fatal implications like a heart attack.
Snorben is designed to help anyone of any age, who suffers from nasal disorders
such as: allar collapsed (collapsed nostrils), deviated septum (bent nose),
damaged nostrils and narrow nostrils. Snorben ensures that nasal passages remain
open, allowing one to breathe freely through the nose and not through the mouth.
Richard Benson, Director, Benson Medical Services, Australia, said, " Snorben
has been a success internationally wherein we have been distributing it through
ENT surgeons in Australia." Somnath Das, COO, MCC, said, "MCC is committed
to providing overall healthcare solutions and improving the quality of life
lead by people. Snorben is another step in this direction and following it will
be a large number of other medically proven and accepted products."
