TeleMedicine

Apollo Telemedicine Services For Mantri Developers

In a first of its kind initiative in India, Apollo Hospitals Ltd has tied up with Mantri Developers Pvt Ltd to provide quality healthcare services 24 x 7 through telemedicine to residents of Mantri homes, using contemporary state-of-the-art technology. Residents in Mantri homes will now be able to harness the power of interconnectivity to obtain instant diagnosis from an expert panel of doctors associated with Apollo Hospitals. This historic service will be first introduced in Mantri Espana, a super luxury residential complex located at Bangalore. Apollo Hospitals, the third largest healthcare group in the world, will provide round the clock healthcare services to the residents in Mantri properties in the comfort of their own apartments.

The Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation (ATNF) will provide cost-effective, customised and need- based telehealth solutions for residents in Mantri developments. An ultra modern telemedicine unit will be set up in each complex, enabling doctors from Apollo Hospitals to virtually examine patients from a distance, through video conferencing. Clinical information, including blood pressure, heart sounds, etc can be transmitted from the telemedicine centre. Remote ECG monitoring can also be made available. Post diagnosis, medicines will be prescribed and supplied and ongoing treatments maintained through tele-consultations. ATNF, the largest and oldest multi-speciality telemedicine network in the country with 103 peripheral units including nine located overseas, has during the last seven years, overseen more than 36,000 tele-consultations.

Sushil Mantri, CMD, Mantri Developers, said, "In line with our commitment to consistently provide the highest quality of services to residents in our properties, telemedicine reaches out to places where no one has been before. We expect this technology based service to be of immense help and convenience." Prof K Ganapathy, President, ATNF, reiterated that Dr Prathap Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, is keenly desirous to use telemedicine to make available quality healthcare, at every individual's doorstep.
