VIVUS - SMRC Heart Centre Announces its Launch in Goa
Vivus - SMRC Heart Centre recently announced its launch in Goa. Recognised by
Mediclaim, the Centre is located at the newly renovated VM Salgaocar Hospital,
Chicalim.
VIVUS-SMRC Heart Centre is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of heart
disease. The Centre is designed to provide the best possible setting for the
diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The 50-bed hospital provides
comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiac care, and staff a 24-hour full
service emergency center.
The Vivus Group, promoted by the Srinivasa Cardiology Centre Private Limited
(SCCPL), is today an acknowledged pioneer in healthcare services in India. The
Vivus group opened its first 50-bed Heart Care Centre in 2000. Today, Vivus
is a multi location cardiac centric group, with presence in central Bangalore,
Madekeri and Goa. The first cardiac centre to get ISO 9001:2000 recognition,
Vivus is also a preferred group for tie up with quality players like MV Diagnostics
and St Theresa and Gayatri Hospitals.
To fulfill their corporate social responsibility, Vivus has for the past two
years, deployed its highly popular mobile cath laboratory during the weekends
so that patients in rural areas can undergo an interventional procedure at their

The Group has also been recognised by the Rajiv Gandhi University for Health
Sciences for two fellowship programmes in cardiology designed for postgraduates.Vivus
recently was one of the promoters and approved centre for the IGNOU course in
community medicine. In 2003, Vivus received accreditation for a three-year DNB
programme in cardiology and has allocated two seats per year to train cardiologists.
