Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Accredits LifeCell USA

This accreditation will boost LifeCell to promote further research in stem cell

The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) have recognised the R&D division of LifeCell. With this accreditation, LifeCell is entitled to receive support from premier Government establishment ssuch as Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and The Department of Science and Technology (DST) on any advanced research in stem cell biology. Abhaya Kumar, Vice Chairman, LifeCell, said, "From the onset, we have been striving to set very high standards that are in alignment with LifeCell's vision. With this accreditation, our adherence has been formally recognised. In a country like India, where stem cell industry is still at its infant stage, this accreditation will boost LifeCell to promote further research in stem cell and to collaborate with other national institutions of excellence." Dr R Ezhil Arasan, Executive Director and President, LifeCell, said, "LifeCell's R&D facility has been created to address to the speedier development of stem cells from various sources and to evolve clinically meaningful research outputs. The R&D faculty is unique in its width of scientific talents and has experienced scientists drawn from some of world's best institutions from the US and Japan. Our scientific advisory board members are clearly amongst the best in the world stem cell research and with all strengths coming together, our focus is to evolve viable therapeutic options in the years to come, while we commit to progress our research systematically.".
