Frontier Lifeline Affiliated to World Heart Foundation

Frontier Lifeline, Chennai announced its affiliation to World
Heart Foundation, a non-profit organisation headquartered in the US, recently.
The affiliation was formally announced by Dr P Padmanabhan, Medical Superintendent,
Frontier Lifeline and Dr Thomas Pezella, Director, Special Projects of World
Heart Foundation (WHF).
Frontier Lifeline will now be part of a worldwide network
of affiliated humanitarian organisations that are committed to providing cardiac
care and resources. This affiliation also entails the education and training
of medical trainees throughout the world. Seventy seven institutions, NGOs and
hospitals have already affiliated with WHF, so far.
"We are happy to be a part of this global initiative. Frontier Lifeline
pledges to carry out the goal and committed to provide cardio care to the poor
and needy population, global education and training for medical population,"
said Dr Padmanabhan.
Lauding the non-profit motive and service rendered by Frontier Lifeline, Dr
Pezella said, "We are happy to welcome Frontier Lifeline to our network.
The affiliation will help it to become a regional hub for cardio-care."
WHF was established in 1999 by James Jim Cox. The goal of WHF is direct delivery
of cardio surgery by providing infrastructure and expertise to surgical teams
and NGOs, to enhance the expertise by providing training and to provide continuous
medical education to the medical fraternity.
