Indian Spinal Injuries Centre adds 1.5 Tesla MRI

Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi recently added 1.5 Tesla MRI Magnetom Avento equipment from Siemens. According to Medical Superintendent Dr Paramhans Mishra, the features are quick in-time and out time, no claustrophobia, less noise and its ability to do all the complicated spinal and CNS MRIs. "It is the highest installed base of 1.5T MRI in the country. It has Q-engine with gradient strength 33mT/m and slew rate of 125mT/m technology with eight independent RF channel and upgradeable to 32 channels. It has parallel acquisition factor applicable for all directions and all coils, specially for head, spine, ABD up to four in 2D techniques," he added.

It has Syngo Spine composing, whereby whole spine is acquired with table moving in different steps and the whole spine image being automatically composed. It has flexibility of scanning feet first for examinations of cardiac, liver, colonography, renal, abdominal anglo pelvis and hip etc. Siemens can connect four coils simultaneously to cover the CNS.
