For the first time, the Golden Peacock Innovative Product/ Service has been bestowed to a health and wellness retail brand, that too just after five months of its launch. The award is designed to encourage systemic innovation in organisations to make products and services required in the new century.

Dr Ranjan R Pai, Group CEO, Manipal Education and Medical Group, said, "Retailing is taking off in India and we feel that there is a huge space in the wellness, preventive and beauty and cosmetic care in this format. We plan to integrate our skills in healthcare to ride the wave of this boom."

Somnath Das, Chief Operating Officer, MCC, said, "The development of retail healthcare delivery model to meet the aspiration of healthy people was driven under the brand MCC. The focus from day one was on innovative service offering under Xpresscare, harnessing of new medical technology, bringing in world-class health products each having an USP, incorporation of international clinical practise guidelines, unique bottom up HR initiatives and IT technology."
