Roche Launches Insulin Pump
It is safe, simple, convenient, and optimises blood glucose
levels
Roche Diagnostics Ltd recently introduced Accu-Chek Spirit, the new insulin
pump in the market. Accu-Chek Spirit is launched for the first time in India
and is available across six metros namely, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi,
Kolkata and Hyderabad.
The benefits of using Accu-Chek Spirit is that it is safe, easy, simple, convenient,
and flexible, optimises blood glucose levels and helps significantly reduce
long-term complications and the need of multiple daily injections is avoided,
thus making the life of a diabetic independent and flexible. It also gives flexibility
to choose what to eat, when to eat and how much to eat.
Additionally, sleeping patterns like going to bed early and sleeping late are
as flexible as with non-diabetics, shift work, pregnancy or invitations for
dinners are typical metabolic challenges that can be easily managed with an
insulin pump and pumps are being used successfully by children, adolescents
and pregnant or breast-feeding women.

This innovative function provides the option to programme the insulin pump according
to the people's level of experience and individual requirements.
The standard menu for beginners is easy to handle and provides the basic features
of the pump. The advanced menu for experienced users allows the use of all the
features Accu-Chek Spirit offers. The custom menu for individual needs enables
the people with diabetes to choose menu functions according to preference.
