Hinduja Group India Limited and Limitless LLC (the global integrated real estate development arm of Dubai World, a business organisation owned by the Dubai Government) have entered into a joint venture for providing medicare services, medicare infrastructure and other medicare-based real estate business in India and elsewhere.

A framework agreement for this joint venture was signed recently at New Delhi between Hinduja Group and Limitless in presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, the Prime Minister of UAE and also the Ruler of Dubai and the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh.

The joint venture will develop medicare cities across India. While certain locations in couple of states have already been identified, the joint venture will give preference to those states who are interested to have world class medicare services and infrastructure in their cities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Al Makhtoum mentioned: "This joint venture would become one of the biggest projects of Dubai World in India." According to Ashok Hinduja, Chairman, Hinduja Group India "This joint venture will leverage Hinduja Group's expertise and brand image in the Medicare sector in India and we are happy to have Dubai World as our partners in this endeavour.”

This joint venture will also create a hub of knowledge and research in medicare which in turn will be supported by a unique network of world-class medical services to be accessed by a vast spectrum of individuals in different segments. This would constitute a quality care centres of excellence in the specific disease spectrums spreading out to tertiary care hospitals in major cities and secondary care outreach centres in interiors of the country. This will be augmented with research and education facilities in clinical, nursing, paramedical, engineering technicians and managerial faculties.

In the backdrop of the emerging opportunity, a long term business plan has been designed by AT Kearney for the Hinduja Group to consolidate its position in the healthcare domain and emerge as one of the dominant players in India.
