KIMS Gets NABH Accreditation
Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Thiruvanthapuram, took healthcare
to global heights as it successfully completed its process on Nation Board on
Hospitals & Healthcare Standards (NABH) accreditation. KIMS is a pioneer
institution, which has invested immensely in the area of quality and safe patient
care since its inception in January 2002. KIMS, which was already accredited
by Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI)along with
NABH accreditation, has now become the only hospital in India to have both National
and International accreditations.
National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare
Providers (NABH) is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up
to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organisations.
The board is structured to cater to the much desired needs of the consumers
and to set benchmarks for progress of health industry.
With the completion of NABH process KIMS has developed and implemented a firm
system of patient care based on infection control and safety. It also helped
in creating a culture of evidence based approach to healthcare and data driven
decision-making. KIMS is a pioneer in promoting medical travel and received
an award for having maximum foreign exchange earning from Government of Kerala
in the year 2005. With national and international accreditation, KIMS will overcome
the apprehensions of medical tourist on issues of safe healthcare.KIMS is also
ISO certified by BSI (British Institute for Standardisation) since 2003.
