ISACON 2006 To Start From December 26, 2006

Anaesthesiologists from all over the country meet once a year at ISACON - the national conference conducted by Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA).

The 54th Annual National Conference of the ISA, ISACON 2006 will be held from December 26-29, 2006 at Mysore, Karnataka. This mega event is organised by ISA, Karnataka and Mysore City Branch with the theme 'Consensus to Protocol'. The organising committee of ISACON 2006, ably supported by the national body, is striving hard to make the conference informative, educative and relevant for present day practice of anaesthesiology.

Lectures on different specialties of anaesthesiology like cardiac, neuro, paediatric, obstretic anaesthesia, along with the discussion on pain and critical care, trauma and disaster management and other recent advances in the field of anaesthesiology will be delivered by eminent speakers from all over the country and the world. Service rendered by anaesthesiologists is not just confined to putting patients to sleep during surgery but it is beyond that, including intensive care unit, trauma and disaster management, pain and palliative care. Upcoming new technology and drugs contribute in safe outcome of medical procedures. Hence, there is a need for anaesthesiologists to get together and update their knowledge and exchange views.

Workshop Highlights

Pre-conference workshops: There will be a pre-conference workshop on December 25 on the following topics:

1. Difficult airway conducted by Dr Raveendra and his team.
2. Ventilators and ventilatory management by Dr Chandra Shekar and his team.
3. Chronic pain management by Dr Shivanna and his team.

• Pre-conference workshop is limited to 50 delegates per workshop strictly on first come basis.
• Pre-conference workshop registration charges are Rs 300 per delegate.
• Workshop involves hands on training, lunch and course material and is scheduled between 10am to 5pm.
• One delegate can register for only one workshop.

Conference Workshop (Certificate Course): There will be conference workshop on the following topics on December 27&28, 2006:

1. Workshop on CPCR by Dr Ramakrishna and his team.
2. Workshop on total pareneteral nutrition by Dr PS Sastri and his team.

Conference certificate course workshop is scheduled between 9am to 1pm and between 2pm to 6pm on December 27 and between 11am to 1pm on December 28.
