Wockhardt, Mumbai Launches Obesity Centre

With an aim to bring a team of skilled bariatric surgeons, endocrinologists, physicians, dieticians and physiotherapists together to provide comprehensive care to the patients suffering from morbid obesity problem, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai recently launched its Obesity Centre.

Said Dr Ravindra Karanjekar, General Manager and Head, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai, "Obesity is one of the leading causes of death in this country as it leads to other diseases like diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and arthritis. In order to tackle this problem, we have taken the initiative to establish a obesity centre."

The team of experienced consultants associated with this centre includes bariatric surgeons Dr Ramen Goel, Dr Sanjay Borude and Dr Muffazal Lakadawala; along with support services like physiotherapy headed by Dr Leena Phadnis and dietician services headed by Purva Duggal. The Centre offers cutting-edge obesity solutions like gastric bypass surgery, gastric band surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques to its patients.
