Indegene Lifesystems Ties Up With Johns Hopkins
EHM News Bureau
Indegene Lifesystems has tied up with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
for organising a variety of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes across
Asia and parts of Africa.
A provider of medical and scientific marketing services to practicing physicians
and the pharmaceutical industry will now have the exclusive rights to market
and distribute enduring CME programmes that belong to Johns Hopkins. Johns Hopkins
University School of Medicine, its Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Johns
Hopkins Hospital are recognised worldwide as pre-eminent centres of excellence
in the field of medicine and research.
According to Dr Sanjay Parikh, Director, Indegene Lifesystems, This is
a three-year relationship, during which Indegene will organise seminars and
meetings in India and other countries on the latest development in medical research
and clinical practice addressed by faculty from Johns Hopkins.
The programmes will be available online and on CD ROMs. Also, video-conferences
with leading experts would be organised for the benefit of Indian doctors. This
would keep doctors abreast of the latest developments happening in the world
of medicine, informed Dr Parikh.
This association will help bring international perspective to the CME programmes
that medical practioners will surely find useful. The programmes would be targeted
at general practitioners as well as experts in various fields.
The alliance comes when medical associations including Medical Council of India
are also pushing the Indian Government to make CMEs mandatory for registered
medical practitioners. The Health and Family Welfare Ministry is considering
introduction of a five-yearly revalidation and reregistration programme for
doctors subject to CME attendance.
