Johnson & Johnson Unveils A New Dry Chemistry Analyser

The Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics (OCD), a division of Johnson & Johnson Limited,
a leading provider of diagnostic products and services, launched its new VITROS
Chemistry System in India- The VITROS 5, 1 FS Chemistry System.

Some of the unique features of the new Dry Chemistry Analyser is that
it has no or minimal water requirement, no or minimal bio-hazardous liquid waste,
affords labour optimisation, is programmable, has a reduced turnaround time,
and provides a stable callibration. The new system is unique in
the sense that all the facility of dry chemistry analyser technology is available
in the wet format, said Dr Harish Ahuja, Consultant Pathologist, Jaslok
Hospital.
The system is equipped with intellicheck technology, which offers integrity
checks at every level of testing. The system allows new method of performing
HDL cholestrol testing, that no longer requires samples to be pre-treated through
the Direct HDL-C method. The system is also equipped with micro-sensor technology
and user-defined applications for specific applications. The MicroTip technology
and MicroSlide technology allows expansion of the systems menu to include
the therapeutic drugs, serum proteins, drugs of abuse, esoteric testing without
the cost, maintenance, carry-over and contamination risks associated with traditional
water-based systems.
Features like e-connectivity, an interactive system management, is also
available on the system to make maintenance easier and provide real time access
to information for pro-active diagnosis and remote repair, said Manoj
Coelho, Country Leader, OCD India. The company introduced the most-advanced
immunodiagnostic system in the industry- VITROS Eci/EciQ with the state-of-the-art
enhanced chemiluminescence technology, offering immunoassay testing capabilities
across menu categories of thyroid function, reproductive endocrinology, bone
metabolism, cardiology, anaemia, oncology and infectious diseases.
