CISCO launches networking solution for healthcare

CISCO systems has recently launched two networking solutions for hospitals in Chennai and Mumbai. It has launched medical grade network, which provides underlying architecture designed to meet specific needs of healthcare. It has also rolled out CISCO Clinical Connection Suite, which empowers doctors, nurses and staff with an enhanced, facility-wide insight, collaborative response and improved patient care. It is a multi-party healthcare facility workflow solution that drives up administrative efficiency, staff productivity, cost savings and quality of care. CISCO Clinical Connection Suite comprises four solutions: Nurse Call, Patient Monitoring, Location-Based Services and Collaborative Care. Says Suprabhat Chatterjee, National Business Development Manager, India and SAARC, CISCO Systems, "With the touch of a button, patients are identified and prioritised based on most immediate need. Staff can monitor any patient from any room, from anywhere in the hospital, equipment is located in seconds, no matter where it is located." According to him, what differentiates CISCO solution is its special configuration to enhance healthcare facility communication and productivity at key administrative points and worflow stages. The Nurse Call integrates with leading nurse call systems to provide real-time, rules-based delivery of patients calls, clinical alerts and urgent administrative information on mobile devices, with one touch-call back to patient locations. The Patient Monitoring provides access to residing patient vitals and records (both text and graphic) via wired and wireliess IP phones and devices. CISCO will soon introduceits solutions at Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore.
