JK Ansell to launch powder free surgical gloves

EHM News Bureau - Mumbai

JK Ansell, a 50:50 joint venture with the prestigious Raymond Group has plans of launching ‘powder free surgical gloves’ in India. The company in India, pioneered the very concept of Barrier protection.

It is hazardous to use powdered gloves firstly as powder is used as a lubricant, in order to facilitate donning and to avoid blocking and the most commonly used powder are Cornstarch and CaCo3. Secondly, powder, after Gamma irradiation becomes substantially unabsorbable by body tissues resulting in proliferation of complications.

Thirdly, powder also is proven to be the most pertinent carrier of Latex antigens through aerosolisation.
