IMA, Thyrocare Technologies join hands to provide diagnostic facilities at subsidised rates

Bombay west suburban branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) in collaboration
with Thyrocare Technologies Ltd offered diagnostic facilities at discounted
rates in controlling the current epidemic of various diseases post 26/7 floods
in the city.
The concessional rates considerably brought down the cost of diagnostic facilities.
The cost of fever package costs around Rs 150. The package comprised of CBC,
peripheral smear for malarial parasites and widal test for typhoid. The cost
for dengue fever testing package was Rs 275, which included IgM or IgG and leptospirosis
fever testing. The current rates for dengue fever testing (either IgM or IgG)
and leptospirosis fever testing in private laboratories across the city range
from Rs 550 to Rs 1300 per parameter. According to Vasant G Shenoy, president,
IMA, Mumbai West Branch, Keeping in mind our social commitment. Our endeavour
was to help provide good quality healthcare to citizens of Mumbai, post-deluge.
The reports were provided on the day of testing, while the collection of blood
samples was done before 1 pm.
