Vijaya Bank launches Doctor’s card

Vijaya Bank recently launched ‘Vijaya Bank Doctor’s Card’ a specially designed card for the doctors. The card was launched by Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, chairman, Narayana Hrudalaya. Vijaya Bank’s Doctor’s card is an internationally valid credit card enabling the cardholders to avail of an exclusive suit of privileges to compliment their life style, providing them with the very best in payment convenience and spending power. The Doctor’s card can be used at 22 million VISA outlets across the world including one lakh VISA outlets in India. It can be used to access cash at over 8.50 lakh VISA ATMs spread across the globe including 6500 VISA ATMs in the Indian cities. The cardholders can step in at any of the Vijaya Bank branches across the country for immediate cash.

M S Kapur, chairman cum managing director, Vijaya Bank, compared the banking profession with the medical profession and brought out the similarities as both serve the people at large. Vijaya Bank has introduced the card not as a commercial venture but to salute the noble profession of medical fraternity, he added.

Dr Shetty said that the Doctor’s Card would help the medical fraternity who were on call 24 hours a day. A suggestion was also mooted to the bank’s management that it should come out with a profession specific Nurse’s Card for the benefit of nurses. Kapur welcomed the suggestion and announced that the Bank would soon come out with the Nurse’s Card as well.
