Insurance Working Group drafts guidelines for pre-existing
illnesses
With an aim to popularise health insurance and to address
the roadblocks hindering its growth, the Health Insurance
Working Group that was constituted by The Insurance Regulatory
Development Authority of India (IRDA) a few months back, has
drafted its report.
Govt
shifts focus from cataract to childhood blindness
After achieving its target of reducing incidence of cataract,
the government has recently revised the National Programme
for Control of Blindness (NPCB) in the 10th five year plan
to shift focus to childhood blindness, glaucoma, diabetic
retinopathy and strengthening of eye banks.
