QuadLAB

QuadLAB is a fully automated, random access, compact tabletop multi-disciplinary clinical analyser which can perform multiple assays using different technologies. It is an open system into which any kit can be programmed. The instrument is a common platform for different types of analyses such as spectrophotometry, different types of ELISA, clinical chemistry (including TDM/DOA and ISE), chronometric and chromogenic coagulation and haemostasis assays. QuadLAB can perform up to 190 tests/hour for Clinical chemistry (with 280 ISE tests/hour) and up to 70 PT/hour for Coagulation. QuadLAB uses two reaction probes, a standard low-volume 96-well microplate for reaction support, leading to low reagent consumption and cost-efficient analyses. Samples and reagents can be added anytime during the analysis.

The Windows™ NT-based software interface allows for identification of samples and reagents through barcodes, calibration and reaction graphs, bi-directional network connections and automation of both routine and special analyses while maintaining strict quality assurance controls.

Plustek launches pro film scanner in India

Plustek Inc (www.plustek.com), a leading manufacturer of consumer, prosumer and professional scanners has launched the OpticFilm 7200 professional-grade film scanner, offering the market’s highest film-scan resolution (7200 x 7200 dpi) in a consumer device.

Until now, due to the high cost, service companies, high-profile photographers and ambitious amateurs/prosumers nearly exclusively purchased film scanners with professional resolution.

‘‘This era has passed with the introduction of the OpticFilm 7200, the first consumer-priced high-resolution 35mm film and negative scanner. The OpticFilm 7200 offers a physical resolution of 7200x7200 dpi and true 48-Bit colour depth. The scanner is able to generate an uncompressed picture file (24-bit colour depth) that is 200 MB or larger or equal to about a 75-megapixel resolution digital camera. A preview scan takes about ten-seconds, a slide scan at 7200-dpi takes just under 130-seconds, and a negative scan takes less than two minutes. These high scan speeds are achieved by the OpticFilm 7200’s USB 2.0 high-speed interface that transfers data much faster than USB 1.1.

The picture quality of the OpticFilm 7200 is designed for professional results.

With an advanced proprietary lens system and two displaced CCD sensors, pictures show even the finest details that previously were achievable only on large format machines used by the best laboratories.
