Allied medical awarded CE mark of quality for anaesthesia machines and other products

EHM News Bureau - New Delhi

Allied Medical Services Pvt Ltd, the flagship of company of the Kohli Group under the aegis of managing director, Dr Vinod Kohli has made a mark with introducing state-of-the-art anaesthesia products. Recently, the company has been awarded the prestigious CE mark of quality for its range of anaesthesia machines and allied products viz. anaesthetic vaporizers, ventilators, monitors, syringe and infusion pumps, ultrasonic nebulizers etc. In addition, Allied Medical is also the first company in healthcare in India to achieve ISO 13485 certification specific to medical equipment. The company presented an impressive range of products last year at Indian Society of Anaesthetists conference (ISACON – 2004) at Bhopal. The rapid growth of Allied Medical Services can be gauged from the growth that the company made, having closed the fiscal year 2004 – 2005 with a growth rate of 450 per cent from the turnover figures of 2003 – 2004. As part of its expansion plans, the company is acquiring and setting up its own offices at strategic locations all over the country with its own marketing and service staff backed up by a strong dealer/distributor network.

Expansion plans include launching of new products such as transport ventilators, ICU ventilators, ambulances, OT Tables, lights, electro-surgical units in order to offer complete solutions for anaesthesia, critical care and OT. With the acquisition of heavy-duty CNC machines recently, large-scale indigenous manufacturing of vaporisers and other related systems has already started. The quality and speed of manufacturing of components has tremendously improved. The assembly line for indigenousmanufacturing of monitors and anaesthetic ventilators is now ready and first batch of the units is expected to roll out of the factory very soon. “CE Mark is just the beginning. R & D will be a continuous process. Our dream is to make products of international quality available to Indian hospitals as well as globally at an affordable price and compete with the best brands in the world so that there will be no further need to import these equipment from other countries,” says Dr Kohli.
