QCI
to draft accreditation standards for hospitals
Close on the heels of Indian Healthcare Federation
(IHF), Indian Council for Healthcare Accreditation
(ICHA), Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Association
of Medical Consultants (AMC) taking initiatives
in accreditation, now the Quality Council of India
(QCI), an autonomous body under the ministry of
commerce and industry, is drafting standards to
be followed by healthcare institutions in the country
for accreditation.

ministry to launch Masters course in health management

the district and sub-district level, the health
ministry has asked four reputed institutes in the
field of healthcare to develop a two-year multi-institutional

Dhandapany Ragavan currently
heads the medical division of Siemens Limited.
He joined Siemens in the year 1983 as a trainee
and handled many functions in different divisions
and at different locations in the country. In
1991, he was sent to Germany for further training
for a period of ten months. He joined medical
solutions division as a chief financial officer
in the year 1999. After a five months information
programme in US and Germany, he took over as head
of sales and marketing in October 2003. In an
interview with Falaknaaz Syed, Ragavan discusses
the future plans of his company, its strategies
and the medical imaging industry in general.
