MCD inks deal with Wipro Healthcare

‘We are planning to establish pre-natal genetic services’
Dr Bibhas Kar is currently heading the department of medical genetics at Apollo Hospital. The department is considered to be the first complete genetics diagnostic centre in Chennai. He has to his credit many research publications in national and international journals. He is the recipient of the prestigious international fellowship, Stevens Shapiro Memorial award from UK and International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) award from the US for his work in the field of human genetics. He has earlier worked at Sankara Nethralaya and American Genes Pvt Ltd. In an exclusive interview with G Sankaranarayanan, Dr Kar shares the contribution of medical genetics in enhancing the quality of healthcare. Excerpts:
