Instromedix: Company that cares

In the past decade Instromedix has been able to establish itself as an undisputed leader in medical equipment provider segment in the country. Founded in 1985, Instromedix has made its mark in providing the state-of-the-art equipment pertaining to cardiology, anaesthesia and critical care.

Functioning through its sister concerns, Instromedix has chalked out a beautiful strategy to capture the market. The two companies are; Life Support Systems & Services and Krishna Medica. Besides being cost effective the products marketed by these companies are of the best quality.

Range Of Products offered by Instromedix:

a. Critical care ambulances
b. Anaesthesia machines
c. Central monitoring station
d. Multi parameter monitors
e. Patient monitoring system
f. Defibrillators
g. Pulse oximeter
h. Holter monitoring system
i. Stress test system
j. Ventilators
k. Hospital waste management
l. Compressors

According to RP Singh, executive director, Instromedix, the group has always endeavoured to bring in the cutting edge technologies to India from all over the world and help the users with its acquisition, applications and maintenance. With its head office in New Delhi, Instromedix operates through its regional offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai and Branch Offices at Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore and Cochin.

Staffed with more than 100 employees, majority of which comprise engineers, each office is providing sales and after sales support to all product lines. Instromedix also has a network of dealers to help its operations with focus on the low value product segments.

The success of Instromedix can be gauged from its positive growth over all its years of operations. The current sales revenue is at Rs 400 Million and in couple of years it will be doubled, says an optimistic Singh. However, the real indicator of its success is the ever growing installations base in all major medical establishments in India, including hospitals, nursing homes etc.

What makes Instromedix different from medical equipment companies is its good costumer base, an all India presence and long association with principals. Instromedix has emerged as the single solution provider in critical care. There is a competent team of over 80 people all over the country.

The customer service support is provided by engineers present at 20 places across the country. As per Singh, they are planning to expand the base in service industry along with making inroads into manufacturing. Already they have started manufacturing compressors (used with ventilators) under the company name Taurus and very soon they will start exporting after undertaking doing extensive quality control measures.

Next in pipeline is manufacturing or assembling of ECG machines, Singh informs. Apart from medical equipment, Instromedix has forayed into the hospital waste management. The company has a centralised facility plant at Jaipur for treating the hospitals waste. Jaipur Municipal Corporation has given 4-acre land for this purpose.

Instromedix has also been involved in World Bank projects wherein it provided 88 ventilators for the Maharashtra Health System and 28 ventilators to Karnataka under the same scheme. They have also got prestigious defence projects to the tune of 20 cores in the past couple of years. The company has branched out in almost all fields of medical sector. Therefore, it is no surprise that they are also pioneers in medical ambulances equipped with critical care provisions.

SO far the Instromedix has 100 ambulances, which includes ambulances for reputed hospitals like R&R Army hospital, MAX healthcare, Apollo, Batra etc. They have proposed mobile hospitals for defence with 11 vehicles and 11 containers that can be set up anywhere during emergencies and otherwise.
