IN an effort to standardise and upgrade the Drug Testing Laboratory,
the Drugs Control (DC) department of Karnataka plans to form
a Drug Testing Lab Advisory Committee.

THE five-member task force on the proposed Indian Medical
Devices Regulatory Authority (IMDRA) will initiate the process
for setting up the national authority that will sanction and
monitor clinical trials.

Nimesulide manufacturers must be writhing in pain. The recent
ban by The European Agency for Evaluation of Medicinal Products
on use of nimesulide in children below 12 years of age has
set the stage for another round of decline in its sales.
