Leprosy hospital resources under utilised
It’s the flip side of the success of National Leprosy Elimination Programme and Multiple Drug Therapy. The steep decline in incidence of leprosy from 40 lakh in 1981 to 5 lakh in 2003 in India has resulted in around 40 per cent vacant beds in the the 270 leprosy hospitals and homes across the country, point out experts.

Day care emerges as the new low cost model
