Blood glucose monitoring from Zydus

Self-blood glucose monitoring is one of the cornerstones of good diabetes management. Self-blood glucose monitoring was invented as a new breakthrough in care for diabetic patients. Physicians were coming to realize that people with diabetes needed some way to test their own blood glucose on a daily basis, rather than using the less accurate urine glucose method. SMBG is a means of achieving a goal rather than a goal in itself, it permits people with diabetes to determine their blood glucose levels.

With several meters available in the market, the attributes like ease of use, cost, features, accuracy, and comfort are the major advantages to be looked into.

Size, speed, and ease of operation are important factors in selecting a glucose meter. Most, if not all, meter manufacturers run discounts, rebates, and trade-in offers that can bring the cost of a device down to virtually nothing. Test strips for meters, however, can be expensive. Consider their cost over time when evaluating what type of meter to buy. Compare test strip prices, meter prices and lancet prices.

Features such as expanded memory, alarms, computer compatibility, and other information can be helpful tools for diabetes management. Several meter manufacturers now offer companion software programs that can log medication, exercise, food, and more. Lab tests, which are performed on plasma rather than the whole blood a meter draws, typically run approximately 15 percent higher.

Some meters offer alternate-site testing, allowing users to use blood from the arms or thighs rather than the traditional finger stick. The penetration depth of lancets can also make a difference in comfort. Experimenting with different testing sites and lancets can help get a feel for what is most comfortable for you. A new generation of non-invasive glucose meters using lasers, infrared sensors, and other technology are currently under development.

MONITOR-G provides an easy, precise method for measuring the level of glucose in capillary whole blood at specific points in time.

The analysis of determination of capillary whole blood glucose values employs the enzyme glucose oxidase and is based on advanced biosensor technology. MONITOR-G is based on advanced biosensor technology with user friendly and interactive touch screen and has large and clear LCD display. The unique features like Auto180 test memory and Data Port offers convience for data management in soft copy and can generate different records of past for accurate glucose control. MONITOR-G shows results just in 35 seconds and offers 98 per cent of precision and accuracy in results.
