Government
plans to formulate National Health Accounts
In
order to estimate a detailed matrix of the sources and
uses of health expenditure in the country, with more
extensive break up of both public and private sources
of funding, the union health ministry is thinking of
laying out a system of national health accounts.

private sector accounts for as high as 70 per cent of
the Indian healthcare market and CII-McKinsey predicts
that this component of the market will double in the
next ten years to Rs 1,56,000 crore.
