Dr Lal Path Lab ties up with Raptakos

Delhi-based Dr Lal Path Labs Pvt Limited (LPL) recently acquired Mumbai-based Raptakos Brett Diagnostic Laboratories (RBDL) to foray in Maharshtra.

Said Dr Arvind lal, MD, LPL, "The acquisition of RBDL marks the beginning of a new era in the history of laboratory medicine in Mumbai where high quality, low cost diagnostic tests shall be made available to the common man. This acquisition comes as an entry point for LPL to cater its highest quality lab services to the western part of the country."

LPL will bring its expertise to enhance the test menu of RBDL with new path breaking tests. LPL plans to set up 25 collection centres in Mumbai and another 25 in other cities of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The lab collection centres will be backed by LPL’s state of the art technology.

Through this lab, LPL plans to offer for the first time in the country, neonatal screening tests, obtained by heel puncture dried blood spots on a filter paper thus making it possible for paediatrics to send blood collected as dry spots thus making it possible for paediatrcians to send blood collected as dry spots on filter paper by ordinary post for screening of diseases like congenital hypothyrpdism, phenyketonuruam galactosemia, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, cystic fibrosis, maple syrup urine disease, G6PD deficiency and haemoglobinopathies.

"For the first time in western India, LPL will offer tests like Atomic Absorption Spectrometry for heavy metal poisoning and toxicity, LDL subfractions tests for coronary risk assessment, latest hormonal tests including thyroid hormones by the advanced ICMA technology," said Dr Lal adding, "These tests would be offered at a very competitive price." He announced that LPL plans to introduce home-pick up service soon in Mumbai as a part of their marketing initiatives.
