Unique range of monitors from L&T

24 hr. disclosure
In ICCUs, monitoring cardiac complexes is more important than monitoring just the heart rate. The ECG complexes offer significant information about cardiac activities/abnormalities, which otherwise only heart rate can not. It is difficult to keep track of every ECG complex @ 72 times per minute, 60 minutes per hour, 24 hrs per day. The only solution is to have 24 hr ECG waveform storage for all the patients connected to a Central Nurses’ Station in the ICCU. Skyline 8/16 bed colour central nurses station from L&T Medical, now offers full 24 hr disclosure facility as an ideal solution for storing ECG complexes. This unique feature keeps a close track on every beat of cardiac activity. In other words, you don’t miss even a single beat from real time monitoring.

To the extent of acquiring data every second, Skyline offers every minute ECG complexes for each bed, which is further divided into 10-sec. strips. A user can take 24 hr heart rate reference to see any rate related complications occurring in the patient. The user can directly drag a cursor to the required position and ask for viewing the ECG for that particular minute. There are 24 hr data stored per bed and maximum 16 bed ECG information is stored in the system.

Effective documentation software is also provided with 24 hr disclosure package (in-built). The user can download any 10 sec. ECG strip out of 24 hr stored data on an ink-jet printer (optional). Every beat monitoring for upto 16 patients over 24 hr is a very significant added advantage.

Become a Master, use a Slave Monitor
In an operation theatre, patient monitors play a vital role in monitoring the patient’s status. Ideal location for a monitor is on the top of the anaesthesia cart, as it is very close to anaesthetist. Generally the anaesthetist refers to heart rate, oxygen saturation values, temperatures, blood pressures, etc. during every stage of delivering drugs to the patient. Any small change in the patient’s status needs to be noticed immediately.

In certain cases, apart from the anaesthetist, even surgeons and other paramedical staff are interested in watching the monitor during operation. During cardiac surgery, apart from the anaesthetist, surgeon and the co-surgeon also refer to the monitor quite often. Even the perfusionist, who manages the Heart Lung Machine, needs to refer to the monitor during on-bypass stages. Constant monitoring of blood pressures and temperatures is the most important function of the perfusionist.

It is practically impossible for all the team members of the theatre to look at a common monitor at the same time. The anaesthesia cart should be an ideal location for the monitor from the anaesthetist and the co-surgeons’ point of view but from the surgeon’s and the perfusionist’s angle, there should be a separate location for monitor at an elevated level.

A slave monitor is an ideal solution for this. L&T Medical’s Star - Multiparameter colour monitor offers this facility as a unique feature. The user can have a BIG external screen (may be 15” or 17” : colour display) for monitoring the same data at a different location.

As external monitor (Samsung, LG, Sony, Sharp, etc) can be directly interfaced with Star. The slave monitor acts like a dump screen, where all the functions can be controlled from the main monitor. The maximum distance specified for having slave display is 10 m from the main monitor.

Dielectric sealer for blood bags

Novel Packaging offers Dielectric Sealer for blood bags. When in operation, dielectric sealer generates strong radio frequency for melting called dielectric heating. When tube is inserted into sealing head and when actuated by push button, heat is generated very quickly and tube melts in a few seconds and then cools to form a seal.

Salient features include:

  • Portable (6 Kg) dielectric sealer for bench top use
  • Warming not required
  • Advanced sealing technology
  • Low sealing time
  • Battery operated units are also available

Novel Packaging also manufactures wide range of sealing machines for plastics with applications in packing, glove making, collapsible tube sealing, special purpose bag making, HF & Ultrasonic plastic welding. Special purpose welding machines as per customer requirements also available.

Doing fine otherwise?
Health insurance in India is a non-starter. This is more due to policy limitations than the inherent challenges India presents to insurers.
