CIFTclinic: Software for healthcare
By Our Correspondent - Bangalore

The Bangalore-based CIFTech Solutions has now come out with a unique software package CIFTclinic to address all the requirements of practicing doctors to automate medical as well as administrative aspects of clinic operations. “The software has great relevance to the medical practitioner looking not only at handling the routine activities of the clinic like scheduling appointments, accounting clinic receipts, but more importantly to capture medical and demographic data of patients for the purpose of analysis and to store or retrieve critical information in a user-friendly way” says Nagendra G L, CEO of CIFTech.

In addition to providing a total solution for hospital automation, CIFTech also provides CIFTLab, a solution for diagnostic laboratories and CIFTPharma for pharmacy software, the data warehousing practices to increase medicinal value. Says Nagendra, “CIFTech, basically the solutions provider for IT segment, decided to extend its focus to provide technology to doctors.” “We realised that nearly 43 per cent doctors are not maintaining proper medical records of patients. The boom in health insurance segment and private participation in healthcare led us to the development of software for medical segment” he adds.

According to Nagendra, automation of healthcare systems, individual clinic administration, hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies are becoming imperative because of the large scale operations and high volume due to which manual management is very tough. The Rs 8 million project, CIFTclinic patient registration system has provision for building patient information database, easy navigation to all medical and financial records of the patient, powerful patient search facility and corporate patients information. The patient visit information is recorded in user defined templates. Patient history can be defined with user specified parameters. There is selective patient history view and print facility. Provision to store online drug information to aid prescriptions, referrals to other medical practitioners, graphical display of clinical findings like BP, weight, temperature and pulse. In the patient billing part of the software the facilities include individual and corporate billing, generating statement of accounts, bills and receipt printing. CIFTclinic has many more special features like analysis of reports with graphical representation, print and store prescriptions, letters to patients, referral and corporates customisable in MS-Word, medical and fitness certificates etc.

CIFTclinic is unique in its deliverability and credibility, adds Nagendra. We are looking at providing solutions to primary health centres at concessional rates and are planning to provide nearly one lakh software in the whole country in the next 2 years. Solutions would be made available at affordable price without compromising quality, he asserts. CIFTclinic which has provided solutions for hospital administration so far is planning a foray into Nigerian government hospital apart from setting up one centre each in the south, one in the west and north of India. “We will also release solutions for pharmaceutical industry at the earliest” he adds.
